About the Passport:
The Passport to Adventure program is an effort to encourage life-long learning among soon-to-be-fifth-graders in the greater Lansing community. Multiple recent studies show that fourth grade is seen as a critical time in determining students' success or failure. The passports aim to enrich soon-to-be-fifth-graders and their families' cultural and learning experiences throughout the summer, while using existing assets in the greater Lansing area. Participants will have the opportunity to get rewarded for their cultural and educational engagement at the end of the summer.
How to Participate & Win Prizes:
Step one: Receive the passport
Download a Passport here (5.5 MB PDF).
In June, all incoming fifth graders in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton Counties received their Passport to Adventure. Additional passports are available at all destinations below on a first-come, first-served basis for incoming fifth graders to participate in the program.
Step two: Visit the destinations
With the passport, students and their families are encouraged to visit 13 greater Lansing assets during the summer. Only eight are needed to register to win.

Step three: Search out answers to the trivia questions
At each location, participants need to find one critical fact and write it down on the proper Adventure page in the Passport.Step four: Get the Passport stamped
This is important: the Passport needs to be stamped twice–once on the Destination page (for participants to keep as a record of their Adventure), and once on the Adventure Log in the back of the book (the part to be mailed back).Step five: Mail back the Adventure Log
Once the students have accomplished their Adventure, they can cut the return postcard out of the back of the book. There should be at least eight adventure stamps on it. Participants have to make sure to fill out the name, a parent's name, address and phone, put on a stamp, and mail it in. Postcards received by August 31 will be entered in a drawing on September 2 to win great prizes!
